The World May Say This, But I Believe That!
A revolutionary book that rewrites the unhelpful (and often damaging) things the world says to kids… that your child – and your inner child – will love.
Why Every Child Needs This Book
“Don’t be shy!” “Don’t talk back!” “Failure is not an option!”
All of this is said to children without a second thought — but should it?
In this deeply moving picture book and parenting guide, journalist-turned-parent educator Kelly Tay challenges some of society’s most entrenched ideas about childhood — giving parents and children a new way to connect on a deeper level.
With comforting words and touching illustrations, The World May Say This, But I Believe That! is the perfect gift for all ages, and a delightful choice for bedtime.
About the Author
Kelly Tay is a certified parent educator, the founder of Juicy Parenting, and a mother of two.
Through her courses and online membership, she teaches Asian parents how to lead with calm and confidence, not fear and force — so that grown children stay connected with family because they want to, not because they feel obliged to.
With the vast majority of Respectful Parenting resources coming from the US/UK, Kelly’s distinctly Asian point-of-view makes her a unique and crucial voice in the space.
Prior to her career pivot into parent coaching, she was an award-winning journalist who spent a decade in financial writing. She is a Fulbright Scholar (Columbia University), and continues to provide parenting commentaries in the media.
